UNIVR Scholarship Details

The UNIV’R program , supported by Campus France, UNHCR and AUF, allows selected refugees residing in a first country of asylum to benefit from material and financial support for the continuation of their studies in France.

The program is open to applicants holding at least a three-year undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent). Courses are taught in English or French at 14 higher education institutions in France. Admitted students will begin their studies in September 2026 .

The beneficiaries come to France on a student visa . Upon completion of their training, they can apply for a one-year residence permit to look for a job, but no guarantee of permanent residence is provided .

Note: Selected refugees will arrive in France with a long-stay visa equivalent to a residence permit (VLS-TS). This visa is strictly individual and does not grant the right to family reunification.

United Nations UNIVR Scholarship 2026 Requirements

To be eligible for the postgraduate UNIVR Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Be legally recognized as a refugee by their first country of asylum or by the UNHCR (asylum seekers are not eligible).
  • Reside in their first country of asylum outside the European Union.
  • Be no more than 30 years old at the time of application.
  • Hold a degree at least equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the program.
  • Have a B2 level in French or in English for courses taught in English.
