German Government Wascal Scholarship Details
The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) has officially launched its call for applications for its Master’s programmes in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH) in all fifteen (15) ECOWAS countries, for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The WASCAL Scholarship is open to students from 12 West African countries. This marks another significant step in empowering the next generation of climate leaders across the region.
The International Master’s Programme in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH) is innovative for the West African region, and it is designed to prepare the next generation to address the energy challenges of adaptation and resilience to Climate Change in West Africa.
With the backing of the German Government, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), and renowned German universities, these programmes offer exceptional scholarship opportunities for qualified students.

German Government Wascal Scholarship Requirements

- Hold a BSc degree (second class upper division) or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Possess proficiency in English language.
