About the NCDMB Oil and Field Readiness Training Program
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a large-scale human capital development initiative to train over 10,000 young Nigerians in high-demand skills for the oil and gas industry.
The program, themed the Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Program, is designed to prepare graduates and technicians for opportunities in new projects driven by the recent resurgence of major investments in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Additionally, the NCDMB Oil and Gas Training will be delivered in partner ship with at least three service companies in each skill area to deliver hands-on experience and ensure participants are ready for employment.
NCDMB Oil and Gas Training Benefits 2025
The NCDMB Oil and Gas Training offers the following benefits;
- The programme will run for two to three years, combining classroom learning, laboratory work, certification, and at least six months of on-the-job training in collaboration with leading service companies.
- Hands-on experience with companies like Shell, SNEPCo, TotalEnergies, and Seplat to ensure participants are ready for employment.
- Participants will also receive medical checks, monthly stipends, personal protective equipment, and insurance coverage.

Which Oil and Gas Companies Conduct the NCDMB Training?
The oil and gas field readiness training will be delivered in partnership with at least three oil and gas companies such as TotalEnergies, SNEPCo (Shell), and Seplat.
NCDMB Field Readiness Training Requirements
To be eligible for the NCDMB Field Readiness Training, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be Nigerians
- Be under 35 years old
- Hold OND, HND, or BSc qualifications in disciplines such as Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Gas, Welding, and Metallurgy. Other eligible fields include Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science, and other science-related disciplines.
