The entirety of the costs of your tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance during the corresponding academic period are covered by the MasterCard Foundation Scholarships at AUB.

Beneficiaries (both undergraduate and postgraduate) of the MasterCard Foundation Scholarships at AUB are also given laptops to support their studies and research.

American University of Beirut MasterCard Scholarship Details

Applications are now welcome for the fully funded American University of Beirut MasterCard Scholarship covering on-campus PhD studies for the Fall term of 2026-27.

In collaboration with The MasterCard Foundation, the American University of Beirut (AUB) is offering this scholarship program.

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars at AUB will receive full scholarships and living expenses, supplemented by intensive preparatory courses, mentoring, career guidance, and relevant internships.

A unique aspect of the program is the give-back component, encouraging scholars to engage in volunteer projects and activities within their communities.

AUB MasterCard Scholarships 2026 Requirements

To be eligible for the AUB MasterCard Foundation Scholarships at AUB, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Be citizens of or refugees living on the African continent.
  • Have good academic standing in the previous degree
  • Show talent that exceeds financial resources
  • Demonstrate commitment to giving back to the community, country, and region
  • Have strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrate commitment to attend all the additional learning experiences and workshops required by the Scholars Program
  • Be 35 years or younger
  • Demonstration of Readiness for University Studies in English (RUSE).

​Tests that you can submit: TOEFL IBT, IELTS (Academic), GRE (Verbal), GMAT (Verbal), or DUOLINGO English Test (DET).​

How To Apply for American University of Beirut MasterCard Scholarship

  • Complete the AUB Online Graduate Application Form after creating an account.
  • Upload necessary documents as specified in the online application.
  • Select Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under the Financial Opportunities section of the online graduate application.
  • In the application, under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program section, click on “Apply” to receive the financial survey link for this scholarship. This survey must be completed before the application deadline.
