  • Maintain a Strong Academic Record: Top candidates generally have high CGPAs that exceed the minimum requirements.
  • Write a Compelling Statement of Purpose/Research Proposal: Past scholars usually have highly strong SOPs that clearly describe  why you deserve the scholarship, your career goals, and how your chosen field of interest relates to Nigeria’s energy sector.
  • Prepare Adequately for Interviews/Assessment: Candidates who ace the interviews or the online assessment tests are generally those who are eventually awarded the scholarship. Once selected for the screening, you should ensure to prepare as much as possible as you would be competiting against thousands of other candidates.
  • Submit an Early Application: Many top scholars have reported to have submitted their applications early usually within the first two weeks of the announcement. Applicants who apply early are usually considered first before those who submit late applications.
  • Proofread and Doublecheck Application Materials: Application materials are to be proofread, reviewed, and edited to ensure you submit an error-free entry. Errors in SOPs, CVs, or Research Proposals signifies incoherence and usually get you disqualified.
