To be eligible for the Tokyo Metropolitan University Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Meet the entry requirements for admission to a graduate program at Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU)
  • Be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree (i.e., a master’s applicant) or a master’s degree (i.e., a Ph.D. applicant) program at
    • A partner institution of TMU
    • A higher education institution in either of the following locations
      ・any of Tokyo’s sister cities
      ・any other Asian country or region
  • Work in a research institution, governmental organization, or company in either of the following locations;
    • any of Tokyo’s sister cities
    • any other Asian country or region
  • Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and innovation for the enhancement of Tokyo and beyond.
