The MTN SBS Scholarship is open to students pursuing degrees in the following field;

Participating Universities for MTN Blind Students Scholarship

Since its inception in 2012, the MTN Foundation Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS) has been supporting eligible blind students in 200 and 300-level courses across Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions, including

  • Universities,
  • Polytechnics, and
  • Colleges of Education.

Requirements for MTN Foundation Scholarship for Blind Students 2026

To be eligible for the undergraduate and postgraduate Shanghai Government Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:


  • Be Nigerian students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).


  • Be a 200 & 300 level student
  • Be pursuing any course in an accredited institution.
  • Be a visually-impared (blind) student
    • However, for blind students studying Law, which is a 5 years course, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.
  • Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
  • Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
