Available Programmes for FME TVET Initiative 2025
The FME TVET Initiative is offered in two flexible options;
- Short-Term Certificate (STC) Programme (6 Months)
First-time trainees, school leavers, or individuals with no formal educational background.
- Vocational Education & Innovation (VEI) Programme (1 year)
Individuals with some education or informal training experience, looking to deepen and formalize their skills.
Participating Centres for FME Technical and Vocational Education and Training
The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program will be offered by the following centres across the six geopolitical zones of the country;
- Federal & State Technical Colleges
- State-owned accredited institutions
- Registered private vocational centers
Federal Government TVET Program Requirements
To be eligible for the Federal Government TVET Program, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
Short-Term Certificate (STC) Programme
- This track is designed for individuals ready to learn a practical skill and enter the workforce quickly.
- Valid National Identification Number (NIN)
- Valid Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- No prior educational qualification required.
Vocational Education & Innovation (VEI) Programme
- This program is for individuals with some education or informal training experience, looking to deepen and formalize their skills.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – proof of skills acquired informally or through apprenticeship
OR - First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
OR - Any form of non-formal education certificate (e.g., training from NGOs, religious institutions, nomadic education or community programs)

While applying for the TVET Program 2025, you will be required to submit the following documents;
- Complete Application Form
- National Identity Number (NIN)
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Formal Education Certificate (SSCE, BSc, ND, HND, NABTEB, or any program)
