The payment, which was initially scheduled to begin in October 2025 to support youth entrepreneurs in the food and agro-allied sectors, has been put on hold to ensure the integrity of the process.
In a development that provides a measure of relief and opportunity, the programme confirmed that the YIEDEP Batch B registration portal will be reopened for recruitment starting Monday, October 27, 2025.

YIEDEP Payment Update: Postponement Cited for Transparency and Accuracy
According to a statement released on Saturday, October 25, 2025, by the programme’s Coordinator-General, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, the delay was necessary to manage the complexities inherent in such a massive financial intervention.
“The postponement became necessary due to complexities in ensuring that the disbursement process remains transparent, accountable, and accurate,” Iyere stated. He assured applicants that the YEIDEP team is working diligently to guarantee that every verified applicant receives their benefits without any irregularities.
The Federal Ministry of Youth Development, which anchors the programme, has consistently stressed the importance of leveraging institutional partnerships, including multiple commercial banks, to ensure the scheme meets its objective of empowering 20 million youth over two years.
The new date for the Batch A disbursement will be officially announced through verified government and media channels once the final process is concluded.
Official Warning Against Fake Payment News and Extortion
In the wake of the delay, Comrade Iyere issued a strong caution against the alarming spread of misinformation online, particularly on social media platforms.
“We warn and caution all our registered applicants and potential beneficiaries to ignore the fake news which have flooded different social media platforms falsely reporting that YEIDEP’s business grants disbursement has taken effect,” he cautioned.

He clarified that internet fraudsters are using these false reports and fake payment screenshots to deceive and extort money from unsuspecting Nigerians.
The Coordinator-General reiterated a crucial message to all applicants: every benefit or gain related to YEIDEP is offered completely free-of-charge, and beneficiaries should never pay any fee to receive their grants.

YIEDEP Batch B Registration Portal Opens October 27
Despite the temporary delay in grant disbursement, the YEIDEP management confirmed its readiness to expand the programme’s reach.
The registration portal, which had been closed, will officially reopen on Monday, October 27, 2025, for Batch B recruitment.
This move signals the government’s sustained commitment to creating economic platforms and empowerment opportunities, primarily focusing on creating youth entrepreneurs within the high-potential agricultural, food, and agro-allied sectors.
Prospective applicants for the Batch B phase are advised to monitor the official YEIDEP website and verified communication channels of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development for the portal link and genuine application guidelines.
