The Teach for Nigeria fellowship program is a two-year, full-time, paid commitment that’s designed to build a movement of leaders who’ll work towards eliminating educational inequity in Nigeria.
The Teach For Nigeria fellowship means more than just a program – it’s an invitation to become a positive force in the lives of Nigeria’s children.
In this transformative journey, you’ll not only develop leadership skills but also uncover a deeper sense of purpose as you shape young minds and contribute to a brighter tomorrow.
There are two main pathways into the fellowship:
- Young Graduate Pathway: For recent graduates or mid-level professionals seeking leadership development through teaching.
- Existing Teacher Pathway: For experienced public school teachers employed in Ogun State under SUBEB or TESCOM.
As a Fellow, you will be placed in communities across Lagos and Ogun States, where Teach For Nigeria is actively making a meaningful impact.
Fellows engage in classroom teaching, community leadership, and personal development designed to empower them as changemakers both inside and outside education.

Teach For Nigeria Fellowship 2026 Requirements
To be eligible for Teach For Nigeria Fellowship 2026, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Must be a Nigerian citizen
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old (Young Graduate Pathway)
- Must hold a university degree with at least a 2:2 grade
- Must have five (5) O’Level credits including Mathematics and English

- Must have completed NYSC on or before July 2026 (for Young Graduate applicants)
- For Existing Teacher Pathway: Must be a full-time public school teacher in Ogun State with at least five years of teaching experience
