Swedish Institute Linköping University (LiU) Scholarship Details

Linköping University (LiU) offers a limited number of scholarships to outstanding international students. For some programmes and nationalities, it is also possible to apply for a scholarship through the Swedish Institute.

There are also other funding opportunities for studies in Sweden.

The LiU International Scholarship is aimed at supporting international master’s degree students with significant academic potential who are required to pay tuition fees.

The tuition fees for a student awarded a LiU International Scholarship are normally reduced by 50%. We offer a limited number of these scholarships to new students.

In addition to LiU’s internal scholarships, students may apply for funding from the Swedish Institute. Two major SI scholarship schemes include:

  • SI Scholarship for Global Professionals
  • SI Scholarship for Pioneering Women in STEM

Shanghai Government Swedish Institute Linköping University (LiU) Scholarship

For 2026, Linköping University has introduced stricter academic eligibility standards. Only applicants meeting the following minimum requirements will be considered:

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • First-class or high second-class degree (or equivalent)
  • Equivalent averages such as:
    • 75% or above in India
    • 80–85% or above in China
    • 8.0/10 or above on a 10-point CGPA scale
