Study in Canada Scholarships Details
The Educanada Scholarship provides students from post-secondary institutions with a $14,000 funding to cover tuition and living expenses.
This program operates through collaborative efforts between post-secondary institutions in Canada and select countries/territories.
Students hailing from Algeria, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Taiwan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, and Ukraine are eligible to apply.
Types of Scholarships: Secondary, Undergraduate, and Master’s
Study in Canada Scholarships Benefits
Scholarship values vary depending on the duration and level of study:
- $10,200 for 4 months or one academic term for study or research at the college of undergraduate level
- $10,200 for 4 months or one academic term for study or research at the graduate level (Masters and PhD)
- $14,000 for 5 to 6 months for study or research at the graduate level (Masters and PhD)
In addition to the funds allocated to the recipients by DFATD, Canadian host institutions will receive CAD 500 per scholarship recipient to assist with administrative costs once the scholarship recipient arrives in Canada.
Eligible expenses
Scholarship funds should be used towards:
- visa or study/work permit fees;
- airfare for the scholarship recipient only via the most direct and economical route;
- health insurance;
- living expenses, such as accommodation, utilities and food;
- ground transportation, including a public transportation pass; and
- books and supplies required for the recipient’s study or research, excluding computers and other equipment.

Terms and Conditions of the Scholarship
- The Canadian institution must be a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
- Tuition and administrative fees for scholarship recipients must be waived.
- Recipients must engage in full-time studies or research in Canada.
- Proficiency in the language of instruction (English or French) is mandatory.
- Health insurance for the scholarship duration is a prerequisite.
- Return to home institutions after the scholarship period is expected.

To be eligible for the undergraduate and postgraduate Study in Canada Scholarships, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must be citizens of eligible countries/territories.
- Full-time enrollment in a post-secondary institution in their home country.
- Exclusion of candidates with Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Candidates already part of a Canadian exchange scholarship program are ineligible.
- Candidates already enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution are ineligible.
Important Notes
- Applications must include a valid student exchange agreement for college or undergraduate levels.
- Graduate applications without existing exchange agreements may still be considered based on collaboration.
- Direct applications by candidates or their home institutions will not be accepted.
- Scholarships cannot be deferred or renewed, and they are non-taxable.
