Nigerian Army Regular Recruitment Intake (RRI) Application Requirements

To be eligible for the Nigerian Army Regular Recruitment Intake (RRI) Application, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

General Eligibility

  • Citizenship: Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.

  • Marital Status: Must be single.

  • Fitness: Must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.

  • Criminal Record: Must be free of any criminal conviction by a court of law.

  • Identification: Must possess a valid National Identity Card/NIN slip and a BVN printout.

2. Age and Height Requirements
Category Age Limit (As of 30th December 2026) Height Requirement
Non-Tradesmen/Women Not less than 18 years and not more than 22 years. Male: Not less than 1.68 metres (5.5 ft) tall.
Tradesmen/Women Not less than 18 years and not more than 26 years. Female: Not less than 1.65 metres (5.4 ft) tall.
3. Educational Qualifications

  • All applicants must possess at least a minimum of four passes including English Language in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.

  • Tradesmen/Women must also possess an additional Trade Test/City and Guild Certificate in their respective trades.

Required Documents for Nigerian Army 91RRI Screening

Candidates who are shortlisted must report to their respective state screening centres with the following documents and materials. Note that you must tender all original copies of your certificates for verification.

 

A. Application and Identity Documents

 

  1. Printed Online Application Form: A printed copy of the completed online application form.

  2. Duly Completed Guarantor’s Form: The printed Guarantor Form must be completed and properly signed by the required individuals (Local Government Chairman/Secretary or Military Officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and equivalent and above).

  3. National Identification Slip (NIN): A printed copy of your National Identity Card/NIN slip.

  4. Bank Verification Number (BVN) Printout.

  5. Certificate of State of Origin: A valid certificate issued by the relevant Local Government Council/State Government.

  6. Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age: Must be a valid certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital, or Local Government Council.

  7. Passport Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photographs.

 

B. Educational and Professional Certificates

 

  1. Primary School Documents:

    • Original Primary School Testimonial.

    • Original Primary School Certificate.

  2. Secondary School Documents:

    • Original Secondary School Testimonial.

    • Original Statement of Results for WAEC/NECO/GCE or equivalent (or original certificate, if available).

    • Note: Applicants must possess at least a minimum of four passes including English Language in not more than two sittings.

  3. For Tradesmen/Women Only:

    • Original Trade Test/City and Guild Certificate in your relevant field.

 

C. Screening Essentials

 

  • Writing Materials: Pen, notebook, etc.

  • Sports Wear: You should bring blue shorts, a white vest, and canvas footwear for physical screening.

To apply for the 91st Nigerian Army Regular Recruitment Intake (RRI), follow the instructions we have outlined below;

  • Visit the Official Portal: Go to the Nigerian Army’s official recruitment website (LINK)

  • Create an Account: Click on “Sign Up” and create a new account using a valid email address. Log in using your username and password.

  • Complete the Form: Fill out the application form accurately. Apply once only; multiple applications will lead to disqualification.

  • Submit Online & Print: Submit the completed form online and print a copy of the application form.

  • Guarantor Form: Print and complete the Guarantor Form as appropriate. This form must be duly signed.

  • Screening: If shortlisted, you will be expected to report to your respective State of Origin for the physical screening exercise with all your original documents and the printed application/guarantor forms. There will be no pre-selection Computer-Based Test (CBT).
