Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA Scholarship Details

The Korean Government KOICA Scholarship Program has opened applications for international students willing, qualified, and interested in pursuing a postgraduate degree in Korean universities.

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is offering a scholarship program for students from developing countries to undertake full-time postgraduate study at participating Korean universities.

The fields of study are targeted to address agreed development needs of partner countries, such as International Development, Women and Development, Public Policy, Fishery Science, Agriculture and Rural Development, etc., in line with Korea’s bilateral aid program.

Korea Government KOICA Scholarship 2027 Benefits

The KOICA Scholarship covers;

  • Full tuition fee exemption
  • Monthly allowance of approximately 999,000 KRW (around USD 750)
  • Round-trip international airfare
  • Settlement allowance (600,000 KRW for Master’s, 1,200,000 KRW for Doctorate)
  • University housing
  • National health insurance
  • Support for academic and cultural activities
  • Completion grant at the end of the program (300,000 KRW for Master’s, 600,000 KRW for Doctorate)

Korea Government KOICA Scholarship 2027 Requirements

To be eligible for the postgraduate Korea Government KOICA Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Be a citizen of an eligible country (see list below)
  • Be in good physical and mental health
  • Be under 40 years old as of February 1, 2027
  • Have proficiency in English (as courses are taught in English)
  • Be a civil servant or professional officially recommended by their government
  • Have relevant professional experience of at least 2 years for Master’s and 3 years for Doctorate programs
