Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a leading food and agro-allied group in Africa, launches the FMN Prize for Innovation to encourage new ideas in food production, innovation, and engineering and how these can impact and enable a sustainable food system in Nigeria.

The Flour Mills of Nigeria Innovation Prize is a social impact initiative established by Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc (FMN) to encourage new ideas in food production, innovation, and engineering and how these can enable a sustainable food system in Nigeria.

Every year, the FMN Innovation Prize will focus on an important aspect of the food value chain that we believe is critical to transforming and sustainable development of the country’s food systems.

The fifth season of FMN’s Prize for Innovation (FMN PFI 5.0) focuses on Innovative Practices in Cassava Production and Processing.

The competition is split into two categories, to accept entries from Nigerian MSMEs and Nigerian students in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

FMN Innovation Prize 2026 Requirements

Eligibility Criteria and Entry Guidelines of The Flour Mills of Nigeria FMN Innovation Prize 5.0;

Be a student with interest in the food and agro-allied industry or a registered food or agro-allied business in Nigeria.
Open to Nigerian residents aged 18 and above
Excludes FMN employees, their families, and those involved in the competition’s organization or judgment
No entry fee or purchase required
Single entry per person
Multiple entries from one individual lead to disqualification

Category 1 (SMEs):

Prize Money: N5,000,000; N3,000,000; N2,000,000

Category 2:

Successful candidates in this category will win: N500,000 (1st Prize), N300,000 (2nd Prize), N200,000 (3rd Prize).
