This initiative, unveiled during World Space Week, is part of a three-mission space program that empowers students to design, build, and launch experiments into space.

Intelsat MaxIQ Space Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible for the Intelsat MaxIQ Space STEM Scholarship, candidates must:
- Be between the ages of 14 and 18.
- Reside on the African continent.
- Demonstrate a passion for and knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
- Exhibit a clear interest in all things “Space.”
- Have access to the internet through a smart device with browser capability.
- Possess browser skills.
- Be proficient in English.

Intelsat MaxIQ Space Scholarship Benefits and Timeline
Intelsat is set to sponsor 30 scholarships for the Space STEM program. Successful candidates will benefit from the following:
- MaxIQ Space selects thirty participants who receive an Intelsat MaxIQ kit at their homes.
- Participants engage in live virtual workshops and Q&A sessions with subject matter experts.
- The program, delivered entirely virtually, includes lessons, practical activities, assignments, and experiments.
- Through the program, participants link Space, STEM, and Sustainability, performing experiments and assignments that culminate in payload and satellite concept design.
Application Procedure
Interested and qualified candidates can apply by visiting the Intelsat application portal on Google Docs. For those selected, here’s how to get started:
- MaxIQ Kit: Upon receiving the kit, find all necessary information here.
- Canvas: An email invitation to Canvas will be sent. Create an account, accept the course invitation, and ensure Canvas is ready for the first session.
- Zoom: All workshops are conducted using Zoom. Ensure access to Zoom and a stable web connection.
