In celebration of the 2023 International Day of the Girl Child, HACEY Health Initiative is pleased to announce a call for submissions for the 7th International Day of the Girl Child Essay Competition for secondary school students.
The essay competition will enhance the critical thinking towards proffering solutions to girl child health, social, and moral issues in Nigeria.
The central focus of the Hacey Essay Competition is to inspire critical thinking among secondary school students.
Participants are encouraged to delve deep into the pressing issues that affect the girl child in Nigeria, ranging from health-related concerns to social and moral challenges.
Through their essays, young writers have the opportunity to propose innovative solutions that can contribute to positive change in the lives of girls in their communities and across the nation.
Requirements
All essay entries for the Hacey Essay Competition must:
- Contain a cover page containing the student’s full name, age, class, school name, phone number, email address, and state of residence.
- Be written in English language
- Not less than 700 words and not more than 1,000 words
- Be the original work of the applicant

Finalists will be notified by September 18th, 2023 and winners will be announced and awarded at the 11th International Day of the Girl Child Conference in Lagos State.
