The WASCI internship is a fully funded opportunity that support interns fully with a flight to and from their home country, furnished accommodation, lunch during working days for the duration of the internship, and a monthly stipend.

WACSI Internship Program Details
The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is inviting young graduates and early-career professionals from Nigeria to apply for its Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP).
This six-month WACSI Internship Program aims to develop the next generation of African leaders by providing hands-on experience in WACSI’s core areas of Capacity Development, Policy Influencing and Advocacy, and Knowledge Management.
Interns will actively participate in WACSI’s activities, enhancing their civic awareness and professional skills to address critical development issues in West Africa.
2026 WACSI Internship Program Benefits
- This is a fully funded internship by WACSI. The institute will support interns fully with a flight to and from their home country, furnished accommodation, lunch during working days for the duration of the internship, and a monthly stipend.
- Interns are expected to commit to WACSI for six months during which time they will be fully involved in all WACSI activities and enhance their knowledge and capacities for leadership, knowledge and programme management, and critical development issues for West Africa, among other areas.
- The successful intern will spend a substantial part of her/his internship working at the WACSI office in Abuja, Nigeria
- It is expected from the intern to produce a practicum and end of internship reports and a technology action plan for implementation pertaining to West Africa/Civil Society by the end of the internship period.Â

2026 West Africa Civil Society Internship Requirements
To be eligible for the 2026 West Africa Civil Society Internship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Have a minimum of a first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or related fields.Â
- Have commitment to WACSI’s vision and values and demonstrated interest in civil society.Â
- Possess strong technical, writing and communication (verbal and written) skills.Â
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.Â
- Knowledge of Cloud computing toolsÂ
- Have Strong knowledge in digital marketingÂ
- Show confidence in using and applying data analysis toolsÂ
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.Â
- Work well under pressure and in a multi-cultural environment.Â
- Be proactive, willing to learn and take initiatives.Â
- Work well as part of a team.Â
