The University Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from non-EU/EER countries, applying for a graduate programme (MSc) at the University of Twente.

he scholarship aims to attract talented students to join the university’s graduate programmes and become part of the top 5–10% of their graduating class.

Recipients become part of a select group of high-achieving students at the university and gain access to an international academic environment focused on innovation, technology, and societal impact.

University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is valoed at:

• € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year for sponsorship of 2 or year programme at the University

University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) Requirements

To be considered for the 2027 award, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be non-EU/EEA students
• Apply for a qualifying Master’s programme at the University of Twente
• Receive a (conditional) admission letter before applying for the scholarship
• Obtain a student number from the university
• Meet Dutch visa requirements, if applicable
• Demonstrate strong English language proficiency
• Application for an UT scholarship is a procedure separate from the application for course entry at the University of Twente. Regardless of funding, you will need to gain an accademic admission letter first.
• You have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programmes starting in the academic year 2026/2027 (September). Please note: After completion of your application, it may take up to 8 weeks before you receive the results.
• You must have a studentnumber.
• You have not graduated from a UT (under)graduate programme;
• You comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable);
• You comply with the general English language test requirement Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills
• You are not eligible for a Dutch study loan;
• The University Twente Scholarship is a scholarship for excellent students. This means that you only belong to the best 5 to 10 percent of your graduation class at your home university. Self-knowledge is of the essence!
