Once awarded the AfOx Mastercard Scholarship 2026, students embark on an enriching academic journey. The program funds a rigorous one-year taught Master’s course at the University of Oxford.
This course equips scholars with technical expertise, entrepreneurial acumen, and leadership skills, enabling them to become change-makers in their respective fields.
Upon completing the University of Oxford Mastercard Scholarship program, scholars have the opportunity to make a tangible impact in Africa. They are supported in securing 4-6 months placements with leading Africa-based organizations during their Ubuntu Period of Service.

To be eligible for the University of Mastercard AfOx Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

For the 2024/25 academic session, the University of Oxford Mastercard Scholarship will accept applications to the available 2026-27 MBA programme.

The Afox Mastercard Scholarship will receive holistic support, which includes:

- Living Expenses: Beyond tuition, the scholarship also provides living expenses. This encompasses costs such as accommodation, meals, and other day-to-day expenditures.
- Logistics Support: To make the transition to studying in the UK as smooth as possible, the scholarship includes an economy return flight, visa fees, and Immigration Health Surcharge fees.
- Settling Down Allowance: The program also offers a settling down allowance to help students establish themselves in their new environment.
- Access to Thrive Fund: The scholarship program also provides access to a Thrive Fund, which can be used in case of emergencies.

You will be submitting the following while applying for the 2024 University of Oxford Mastercard Scholarship;
- A completed online application – all applicable sections must be filled out, including contact information, financial information, personal details and responses to essay questions.
- Financial documents – upload a scanned copy of financial documentation.
- Transcript – upload a scanned copy of your secondary school transcript and any other academic information.
- Two references – provide the names and contact details of two individuals who will serve as your referees.
- You will also be submitting all other required documents reuqired for admission by the University of Oxford

- To be considered for this scholarship, submit your application for graduate study to the University of Oxford via the graduate admissions portal by the deadline for your chosen course of study.Â
- Please read the Application Guide in detail ahead of making the application. We strongly recommend you submit your application form and all of your supporting documents at least a week before the January deadline for your course.
- No separate application is needed, Eligible candidates who receive a conditional offer from their course will be then invited to apply for the AfOx Graduate Scholarship Program.
