2025 University of Ottawa Scholarship Requirements

However, successful awardees are required to provide evidence of African citizenship before receiving their initial scholarship disbursements.

International Student Status: Applicants must maintain international student status and possess a valid study permit.
African Citizenship: Applicants should be citizens of African countries, affirming their African heritage.
Program Eligibility: Eligibility extends to students who have recently been admitted to specific undergraduate programs offered either in English or with the French Immersion option. These programs encompass Engineering (Civil Engineering; Chemical Engineering), Social Sciences (Sociology; Anthropology; International Development and Globalization; Conflict Studies; Public Administration), and Sciences (excluding Honours BSc in Biochemistry/BASc in Chemical Engineering; Honours BSc in Physics/BASc in Electrical Engineering; and Honours BSc in Ophthalmic Medical Technology).
Full-Time Enrollment: Eligible candidates must be enrolled as full-time students, demonstrating their commitment to their educational pursuits.
Academic Requirements for Scholarships:
- Entrance Scholarships: Maintain an admission average of 89.99% or lower, once converted to the university’s grading scale.
- Excellence Scholarships: Achieve an admission average of at least 90% once converted to the university’s grading scale.
