The Department of Psychology annually offers the University of Florida Graduate Scholarship and receives over 350 applications annually for her Ph.D. programs. The incoming class each year ranges from 15 to 25 students.

The department’s admissions process is centered within our areas of specialization (behavior analysis(opens in new tab), behavioral and cognitive neurosciences(opens in new tab), counseling(opens in new tab), developmental(opens in new tab), social(opens in new tab)).

Area faculty independently review applications and make recommendations for admission and funding to a department-wide committee that makes the final decision on funding offers.

University of Florida Graduate Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for the postgraduate University of Florida Graduate Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • have an undergraduate degree in fisheries, wildlife ecology, quantitative fields, natural resources, or a related field (required).
  • have an MS degree in fisheries, natural resources, or a related field (preferred).
  • have experience with scientific research and an interest in quantitative fisheries research (required)
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative fisheries work is strongly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience using models (e.g., GLMs, assessment, simulation, etc.) in R or a similar platform, and be interesting quantitative approaches to understand and improve fisheries management.
