The Francis and Fidelia Ibhawoh Scholarship is awarded annually to the students with the best entries in the Francis and Fidelia Ibhawoh Annual Essay Competition.
The scholarship supports a number of high potential students in Edo State to pursue tertiary education. Our Foundation aspires to expand this support across Nigeria in the future.
The essay competition focuses on topical contemporary issues relating to local community and national development with a view to proffering solutions to these issues.
This competition is aimed at full-time undergraduates of Edo State origin studying in Nigeria, focusing on the theme of AI, Technology & Education for Nigeria’s digital future

The Francis Ibhawoh Annual Essay Competition Requirements
To be eligible for the the Francis Ibhawoh Annual Essay Competition, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Open to full-time undergraduate students of Edo State origin in Edo State (Nigeria) tertiary institutions
- Minimum requirement of CGPA equivalent of 2:1 Grade
- Essays must be original work of the student (between 2000-3000 words)
- Include cover page with your name, institution, faculty/department and level of study
