The entirety of the costs of your tuition, 25,000 living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance during the corresponding academic period will be covered by the scholarship.

2026 Swedish Institute SI Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for the esteemed Swedish Institute SI Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Hold citizenship in one of the 41 eligible countries.
  • Apply for a master’s program that qualifies for the SI scholarship.
  • Be responsible for paying tuition fees at University Admissions.
  • Demonstrate relevant work experience.
  • Exhibit leadership experience from their current or previous employment or civil society engagement.

Selection Process for Swedish Institute Masters Scholarship

Key dates in the application process include:

  • 16 October 2025 – 15 January 2026: Apply to Swedish master’s programmes through University Admissions. 
  • Mid-November 2025: SI Scholarship application documents and eligible master programmes are published on this page.
  • 9-25 February 2026: Application portal for the SI Scholarships is open for two weeks.
  • 26 March 2026: University admissions announcement.
  • 23 April 2026: SI Scholarship announcement.

How To Apply for Swedish Institute SI Scholarship 2025

Interested and eligible individuals can apply through the Swedish Institute website. The application process involves:

  • Apply for an eligible master’s programme at one of Swedish Universities.
  • Apply for a Global Professionals scholarship. To apply for the SI Scholarship, you must submit the documents listed below;
    1. CV
    2. Motivation Letter
    3. Two Recommendation Letters
    4. Photocopy of your valid passport/National ID card
    5. Proof of work and leadership experience
  • After the application deadline, SI will carry out a screening of all applications and disqualify those that do not meet the eligibility criteria for the SI Scholarship.
  • On the day you receive your notification of selection results from University Admissions, SI will receive the admission results, including your personal information directly from University Admissions.  
  • After the admissions results are announced by University Admissions on the 27 March 2025, SI starts to make a final evaluation of the applications that are still eligible for the scholarship.
