The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) is excited to announce the initiation of the 2023 SPDC JV LiveWIRE Programme.

Geared towards the youth of Niger Delta states, this initiative seeks to catalyze entrepreneurial aspirations, fostering economic vibrancy and empowered communities.

The programme targets youths aged 18 to 30 years within the Niger Delta region, providing them with attractive, high-quality programs and networking opportunities.

Shell Nigeria LiveWIRE Programme Requirements

To be eligible for the Shell Nigeria LiveWIRE Programme, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Indigenous to Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, or Edo States.
  • Residents in their state of origin.
  • Possess a University degree or HND in any discipline.
  • Not engaged in paid employment.
  • Hold an innovative business idea.
  • Aspire to own and manage a business.
  • Not a business owner for more than three (3) years.
  • Have not previously benefited from any Shell Community Skills & Enterprise Development Social Investment programme.

  • Business Awareness: Raise awareness among final year university students, encouraging them to view entrepreneurship as a viable career option.
  • Bright Ideas Workshops: Assist youth in discovering and developing business ideas through interactive workshops.

  • Awards and Micro-Credit: Recognize the best business plans, granting access to micro-credit facilities through collaboration with banks, NGOs, and financial institutions.
  • Business Sustenance Awards: Acknowledge young entrepreneurs who sustain their businesses for 2 to 3 years, continuing the awards annually.
  • Mentorship Program: Facilitate a volunteer mentoring program for program graduates who decide to pursue their own businesses, drawing mentors from diverse sectors.
  • Resource Centre: Establish LiveWIRE Resource Centre offering information on youth enterprise.
