Shell Daystar Women in Power Training (WIPT) Details

The 2026 Daystar Power Group Women in Power Training is a one-year program that offers hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and the opportunity to grow into a future leader in the solar industry.

Since launching the WIPT in 2019, Daustar Power has run the program through five cohorts, training female electrical engineering graduates to move from theory into live solar installation work.

The program exists because an engineering degree, on its own, doesn’t teach someone how to commission a site or manage a project under pressure. WIPT is built to close that gap.

Shell Daystar WIPT 2026 Program Requirements

To be eligible for the Shell Daystar WIPT 2026 Program, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Education: a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable University
  • Completion of NYSC
  • Experience: 0 – 2 years of experience
  • Strong interest in solar energy and sustainability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Character:
  • Self-motivated female engineer with a learner’s mindset.
  • Passion for renewable energy.
