Schlumberger (SLB), one of the world’s largest oilfield services companies, is recruiting fresh graduates for its 2026 Graduate Technical Internship Programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The programme offers three internship tracks across field engineering, field specialist operations, and mechanical/electrical/electronics technician roles, designed to give early-career engineers and technicians hands-on experience in oil and gas field operations under the guidance of experienced SLB professionals.
Open to fresh graduates with a minimum of Second Class Upper in engineering or related technical fields who have completed NYSC and graduated within the last three years. To be considered for the 2027 SLB Graduate Technical Internship, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
Field Engineer Intern:
- Minimum Second Class Upper (2:1) degree in an engineering field or equivalent
- Must have completed NYSC
- Fresh graduate with no more than three years since graduation, including NYSC
- Strong practical electronics or mechanical background
- Good problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
Field Specialist Intern:
- Minimum Second Class Upper (2:1) HND in engineering or equivalent
- Must have completed NYSC
- Fresh graduate with no more than three years since graduation, including NYSC
- Strong practical electronics or mechanical background
- Good problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
Mechanical and Electrical/Electronics Technician Intern:
- Minimum Second Class Upper (2:1) HND or technical certificate in electronics, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or equivalent
- Must have completed NYSC
- Fresh graduate with no more than three years since graduation, including NYSC
- Strong practical electronics or mechanical background
- Good problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
Roles and Responsibilities for Slb Technical Interns
Field Engineer Intern:
- Support engineers and technicians during field operations
- Assist in preparing equipment, tools, and materials
- Participate in data collection, monitoring, and basic analysis
- Assist with operational reports and job documentation
- Participate in safety meetings and operational briefings
- Follow company HSE quality standards and procedures
Field Specialist Intern:
- Assist with preparing, testing, and deploying service equipment
- Support field operations under supervision
