Rotary DEWEF Undergraduate Scholarship Details

Rotary International, District invites brilliant but indigent students for the 2025/26 edition of its annual District Educational and Welfare Endowment Fund (DEWEF) scholarship scheme.

The scholarships are awarded in the student’s second academic year after presenting a first year result which is expected to be within the range of Second Class Upper Division and above. The scholarship will go on annually until completion of the student’s academic programme.

The scholarship programme started by the Rotary district in the 2009-2010 Rotary year with the aim to support indigent but brilliant students in tertiary institutions across Lagos and Ogun states which falls under the umbrella of the district.

The Rotary DEWEF Undergraduate Scholarship awards selected candidates with a scholarship sum of ₦100, 000 annually till graduation.

Participating Universities for Rotary DEWEF Undergraduate Scholarship

All students in tertiary institutions located in Lagos and Ogun States are eligible for the Rotary DEWEF Scholarship.

2026 Rotary DEWEF Undergraduate Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for the undergraduate Rotary DEWEF Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Indigent student, brilliant and of good morals
  • Students must be schooling in either Federal or state higher institutions in Lagos or Ogun
  • First year (100 Level) and are now in their second year (200 Level)
  • HND 1 with ND Results
  • NCE, 200 Level (3.5 GPA/CGPA on a 5point and 3.0 on a 4point scale)

NB: Children of Rotarians are not eligible to apply.

Required Documents for Rotary DEWEF Undergraduate Scholarship

While applying for the 2026/27 Rotary DEWEF Undergraduate Scholarship, you will be required to submit the following documents;

  • Complete Application Form
  • Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s Institution of Higher Learning
  • Relevant academic credentials,
  • Result of first year examinations

To apply for Rotary DEWEF Undergraduate Scholarship, follow the instructions we have outlined below; 

  • Read the information we have provided on this webpage and ensure your eligibility 

  • Interested candidates are expected to apply through the Rotary Clubs in their community

  • Selected candidates are to be recommended to the District, for the attention of the undersigned (i.e, Chairman, District DEWEF Scholarship Committee not later than the deadline)

Selection Process

  • Selected applicants are expected to be interviewed and screened by the clubs.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified to attend a further screening/interview at the District Office
