About the President Tinubu Engineering Mentorship Program 2026

The Federal Ministry of Works has announced an extension of its Call for Applications for the engagement of unemployed Graduate Engineers and Skilled Artisans across all Local Government Areas in Nigeria under the Ministry’s Capacity Building and On-Site Training Programme.

The objectives of the programme include equipping young engineers and artisans with practical skills in modern construction methods, building a sustainable local talent pool for infrastructure development, reducing youth unemployment through structured short-term engagement, and strengthening project delivery through skilled manpower.

The programme targets graduate engineers in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as skilled artisans, and is part of ongoing efforts to support infrastructure delivery while addressing youth unemployment.

Federal Ministry of Works Engineering Mentorship Program 2026 Requirements

To be eligible for the Federal Ministry of Works Engineering Mentorship Program, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

Graduate Engineers

Applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Possess a degree or HND in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized University.
  • Be currently unemployed and not engaged in government service, or any full-time employment.
  • Provide evidence of NYSC completion, exemption, or exclusion.
  • Reside in (or be willing to work within) any of the Local Government Areas where the Ministry has projects.
  • Demonstrate basic computer literacy. Familiarity with engineering software is an advantage (not mandatory).
  • Show willingness to participate fully in structured field training modules.

Skilled Artisans (Technical Category)

Applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens aged 18 to 45.
  • Possess recognized vocational training, trade test certificates, or verifiable practicalexperience.
  • Be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Be physically fit for construction-related field work.
  • Be willing to undergo additional training, safety certification, and supervised project attachment
