Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge Details
The program invites high school students and teachers worldwide to use technology to tackle the climate crisis with bold, practical solutions. Presented by Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, this competition empowers young innovators and educators to design tech‑driven ideas that address one of humanity’s greatest challenges and to present them at the University of Oxford.
The next generation will inherit a planet facing escalating climate impacts. No country or community will be untouched, from floods and droughts to pressures on food and water security. Technology offers a way to monitor, adapt and innovate at pace, but it needs bold ideas and people ready to make them happen
Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge Benefits
The Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge offers the following benefits;
- Completely free to enter
- All‑expenses‑paid trip to Oxford this October for shortlisted student teams and teachers
- Top prizes: a full scholarship to the Future Climate Tech Innovators summer school for the winning student team and a place on an Oxford Executive Education programme for the winning teacher
- A truly global community: last year’s competition drew 1,600+ entries from 75 countries
- Real‑world purpose: apply technology to urgent challenges in air pollution, extreme weather, food security, biodiversity and water scarcity
- Skills and credibility: sharpen problem‑solving, teamwork and ethical thinking while building a portfolio recognised by Oxford Saïd

Entrues Focus for Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge
Entrants should respond to one of five key challenges, using technology as the foundation for their ideas and lesson plans:
- Air pollution
- Extreme weather events
- Food security
- Biodiversity
- Water scarcity
Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge Requirements
To be eligible for the Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
Students entries must be”
- be from a team of 3-5 students aged 15-18 (individual entries will not be accepted)
- be submitted as a ten-page PowerPoint presentation (saved as PDF, ideally under 10mb)
- include a video of up to three minutes in length
- include a completed consent form for each student, signed by a parent or guardian
- Teachers Entries must:
- be from an individual teacher (team entries will not be accepted)
- include a series of lesson plans intended for your school’s curriculum (saved as PDF, ideally under 10mb)
