Oklahoma State University is offering fully funded PhD Research Assistant positions through the research group of Dr. Tao Hu, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography.

The Graduate Research Assistant positions will primarily contribute to recently funded projects supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH). The research uses GIS and GeoAI to investigate important public health challenges.

The opportunity is particularly suited to students who want to work at the intersection of geospatial science, artificial intelligence, data analytics and public health.

Dr. Hu’s research focuses on using different forms of geospatial big data and advanced spatial statistical and GeoAI methods to study population and environmental health challenges. His research group works on areas including health disparities, human mobility and heat vulnerabilities.
