NBF Undergraduate Scholarship Details

The Nifemi Brown Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship was established with a single, clear conviction: that academic ability and financial access should never be the same thing.

The scholarship funds are disbursed towards students’ academic pursuits, ensuring every naira reaches its intended purpose. Recipients are selected not only for academic performance but for evidence of character, community involvement, and resilience.

Interesyed candidates will be required to submit an essay. The essay prompt is Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how work is done across industries, including yours.

In 300–400 words, describe how AI is currently affecting or will affect your specific field of study, and explain what skills, knowledge, or approaches you are developing to remain relevant and valuable in that changing landscape. Be specific to your discipline; a general answer will not score well.

The essay is not a test of your ability to write perfectly. It is an opportunity to show us how you think. We are looking for clarity, specificity, and evidence that you understand the world you are entering and have genuine ideas about your place in it.

Available Programmes for NBF Scholarship 2026

For the 2026/27 academic session, the NBF Scholarship will accept applications to accredited undergraduate programmes in Nigerian universities.

Nifemi Brown Foundation Scholarship 2026 Requirements

To be eligible for the undergraduate NBF Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Nigerian Citizen: must hold Nigerian citizenship.
  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student: applicants must be currently enrolled at a Nigerian university, polytechnic, or college of education at the undergraduate level as of the application date. Freshers (100 level) who have received an offer of admission are also eligible.
  • Full-Time Student: You must be a full-time student, not distance learning, part-time, or in a sandwich programme.
  • Demonstrated Financial Need: Your household income and financial situation must demonstrate genuine need. You will be asked to provide supporting documentation during the review stage.
  • In Good Academic Standing: You must not be under any academic suspension, probation, or disciplinary action at the time of application.

Required Documents for Nifemi Brown Foundation Scholarship

While applying for the Nifemi Brown Foundation Scholarship 2025, you will be required to submit the following documents;

  • Essay Response: properly structured Word document of 600 – 750 words. This is a core part of your application and carries significant weight in scoring.
  • Academic Transcript or Result Slip: Your most recent official transcript or result slip from your institution. First-year students who have not yet sat exams should submit their JAMB result and O-level results.
  • Letter of Current Enrolment: A letter from your institution confirming you are currently enrolled, or an offer letter if you are an incoming student.
  • Three Distinct Reference Letters: The letters must be on authentic letterhead paper. The referees must be contactable by email.

For First-Year (100L) Students;

  • Results from your Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Post-UTME.
  • An admission letter confirming your enrollment in a Federal University.
  • Three reference letters from individuals of reputable standing, such as religious leaders, mentors, teachers, or guidance counsellors.
