Details of Jigawa State Scholarship Board 2025
The Jigawa State Government, through the Government’s Scholarship Board, has announced the commencement of applications for the 2024/25 edition of its scholarship and bursary programs.
About the Jigawa State Scholarship Board
Jigawa State Scholarship Board was established by the Edict of September 1995 by the then military administrator in the State. The Law was later reviewed as Law No. 2 of 1998 and became operational on 12th February 1998.
The Board is charged with the responsibilities of securing admission for qualified indigenes of the state in tertiary institutions within and outside Nigeria, formulating and reviewing policies, and initiating programmes on the award of scholarships to deserving students, among other functions of the Board.
Major Roles of Jigawa State Scholarship Board
The Jigawa State Scholarship Board has several academic responsibilities as they are empowered by the State Government under the Ministry of Education to;
- Conduct of interview for the award of sponsorship to deserving students
- Pay of Bursary Allowance (Maintenance, Tuition and Refund of registration fees
- External Auditing for the year ended
- Payment of Registration fees & Purchase of Laptop computers to Law Graduates called to Bar
- Payment for rented Houses to students At KUST Wudil, JICORAS Babura & University of Maiduguri
- Payment for Female Teacher Development Programme

- Purchase of Air Tickets
- Payments for Tuition fee, Accommodation, Living allowance, Visa/ Visa Extension, Health Insurance, Central Registration, Resident Permit & other fees to International Students on Government Sponsorship
- Payment for Clinical attachment (Internship training), Transportation & Accommodation
- Payment for Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria/Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria License Examinations (MDCN & PCN)

Jigawa State Scholarship 2025 Requirements
To be eligible for the undergraduate and postgraduate Shanghai Government Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
Applicant must be an indigene of Jigawa state.
- Must be enrolled in a tertiary education institution in Nigeria
- Must provide required documents and apply before the deadline.
