What is the MTN Foundation Scholarship for Undergraduates?
The MTN Foundation Scholarship is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs of the telecommunication giant.
Established in 2010, the MTN Undergraduate scholarship seeks to reward high-performing Nigerians who are tertiary institution students, and are also able to demonstrate financial need.
Over the years, the MTN Scholarship has provided financial awards to several thousands of Nigerians and has birthed other categories.
Types of MTN Undergraduate Scholarship for Nigerians Details
The MTN Undergraduate Scholarship Program will recognize academically bright students in the following categories;
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarships (MTN STS): This scholarship is awarded to 300 students with a value of ₦300,000 on an annual basis until they graduate.
- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS): This scholarship is for 200 and 300-level students of Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. ₦300,000 per year till graduation.
- MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to the top 10 UTME candidates (with the highest scores) every year. These candidates, irrespective of their preferred course of choice.

How To Apply for MTN Undergraduate Scholarships 2025
To apply for the MTN Undergraduate Scholarship 2025, we will begin by reminding you of the requirements.
MTN Foundation Scholarship Requirements
An applicant will be considered eligible to apply for the MTN Scholarship if he/she;
- is a registered 300-level student of a Nigerian tertiary institution (200-level students can apply for Blind Students)
- is a student of a Nigerian university, polytechnic, or college of education.
- possess a CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 equivalent of a second-class upper credit.

- Once you click the yellow button, you will be directed to the scholarship application dashboard as shown below.
- Select the MTN Scholarship you would be applying for from the options provided, check the terms and conditions box, and click NEXT.
- The next part of the application will be based on questions relating to gender, institution attended, current year of study, course of study, and current CGPA.
- These questions will determine your eligibility for the scholarship. If you are eligible, you will proceed to the next section.
Filling the Scholarship Application Form (Section 2)
This section also contains seven parts;
- The first part of this section will be for personal information: Your name, date of birth, state, and gender.
- Next, you will input the details of marital status, main and alternate email addresses, phone number, and disability status. You will also be required to upload your passport photograph.
- The third part of this section is for UTME information. You will provide your UTME registration number and other related details.
- Part Four is for institutional information. Department, Course of Study, and Matriculation number
- In part 5, you will enter the details of your CGPA, course duration, and Mode of Study.
- Next of Kin details are the required details for the sixth part.

- After the deadline, MTN Foundation collects all submitted applications and shortlists a few outstanding candidates.

- The awarded will be invited to an award ceremony in any of the chosen MTN offices in the country.
