Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries worldwide, driving innovation, efficiency, economic growth and new business models.

To unlock the full potential of AI in Nigeria, we are launching the AI Fund in collaboration with Google, a dedicated initiative to support and nurture the next generation of AI-powered startups in Nigeria.

Why is this important for Nigeria?

Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa with a thriving technology ecosystem and a youthful, tech-savvy population.

The country has a rich pool of talent and a growing number of tech entrepreneurs who are creating solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the African continent.

However, despite this potential, Nigerian startups often face funding constraints and lack the necessary resources to scale their solutions.

Google AI Fund For Nigeria Startups Benefits

By fostering the development of Artificial Intelligence in Nigeria, the program aims to:

  • Address local challenges with AI solutions.
  • Drive job creation and economic growth.
  • Establish Nigeria as a competitor in the African and Global AI landscape.

The N100 million fund will provide:

  • Financial Support: Grant funding of up to ₦10 million per startup.

To be eligible for the Google AI Fund For Nigeria Startups, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

Company:

  • Headquartered in Nigeria.
  • Building solutions for the Nigerian market and potentially African/global market.
  • Demonstrated market fit and significant growth potential.

Founders:

  • At least one Nigerian founder.
  • Relevant experience and a strong team positioned for success.

Tech:

  • Core AI technology company with a live product in the market.
