The Gabriel Ezenri Foundation was founded by Gabriel Ezenri to solve a problem he knows firsthand: Nigeria is full of brilliant students and promising researchers, and far too many of them are stopped not by ability, but by money.

The Gabriel Ezenri Foundation supports outstanding undergraduates and researchers in Nigeria — with scholarships that keep them in school and grants that keep their research alive.

Gabriel Ezenri Foundation Scholarship Program Benefits

Selected awardees receive a comprehensive financial package that removes financial barriers:

• Renewable scholarship that covers tuition and registration fees, learning materials, and a modest living stipend, up to ₦500,000 per academic session
• Research grant ₦150,000 – ₦1,000,000 for early-career researchers at Nigerian institutions

Gabriel Ezenri Foundation Scholarship Program Requirements

To be considered for the 2027 award, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• You may apply to the Gabriel Ezenri Foundation Scholarship if you are:
  • A Nigerian citizen or resident
  • Enrolled in, admitted to, or affiliated with an accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria
  • Able to provide the required documentation (see How to Apply)
• Research projects are to focused on the following areas:
  • Fieldwork and data collection
  • Laboratory consumables and small equipment
  • Software and dataset access
  • Research assistant stipends
  • Ethics approval fees
  • Transcription and analysis services
