Ford Foundation Internship Program Details
For over four decades, Ford Foundation internship program has been a cornerstone of the Ford Foundation, offering an invaluable experience for students from diverse majors and career paths.
This program is tailored to introduce students to the world of philanthropy and the non-profit sector, fostering a rich environment for learning and development.
Interns will engage in a variety of tasks ranging from administrative duties to analytical, research, and special project support, across different departments including our grant-making and operations sectors.
Ford Foundation Internship Program Requirements
The focus is on supporting students from the greater NYC area who have had limited access to competitive paid internships. Eligibility requirements include:
- Full-time enrollment as a rising junior/senior in college
- Permanent residency in the New York tri-state area
- Receipt of needs-based financial aid
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Commitment to a full-time, 10-week schedule
- Availability for a hybrid work schedule

If you advance to the final stage, be prepared to provide:

- Two professional references (work supervisors, professors, or advisors)
Program Schedule and Structure
The 10-week program commences on Monday, June 3, 2024, and concludes on Friday,
August 9, 2024. Adopting a hybrid working model, interns will spend three days a week in the office and two days working remotely.
The weekly commitment is 35 hours, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Ford Foundation Internship Program Benefits
This competitively paid internship offers $38.50 per hour. While interns don’t qualify for full-time staff benefits, a comprehensive benefits summary will be provided on the first day during orientation.
