The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has called for applications for the FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship Program for the academic year 2026/2027.
This program targets young professionals, offering them an opportunity for master’s level studies in English at Hungary’s renowned agricultural universities.

FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible for the FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship, candidates must
- be citizens of one of the designated countries and
- have shown excellent academic achievements.
- Proficiency in English is a requirement, along with motivation,
- good health, and
- preferably being under 30 years of age.

For the 2026/27 academic session, the FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship will accept applications to the following programmes;
The following Master of Science degree courses are offered in English for the 2026–27 academic year:
- Master’s in Agricultural BiotechnologyÂ
- Master’s in Animal Nutrition and Feed Safety EngineeringÂ
- Master’s in Plant ProtectionÂ

FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship Benefits and Timeline
The scholarship covers several expenses including;
- application and tuition fees,
- accommodation,
- subsistence costs, and
- health insurance.
However, it does not cover family members.
Number of Awardees The number of scholarships awarded is based on the minimum number of students required for each course.
Required Documents for FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship 2026
While applying for the FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship 2026, you will be required to submit the following documents;
- application form with selected course indicated at top (remember to add your Photo)
- curriculum vitae
- a copy of high school/college diploma and transcript /report of study or copy of the diploma attachment
- a copy of certificate of proficiency in English
- copies of relevant pages of passport
- one letter of recommendation (from your school, or workplace, if employed)
- statement of motivation
- Health Certificate issued by Medical Doctor
- Certificate of Good Conduct issued by local police authority.
How To Apply for FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship 2026
To apply for the FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship 2026/2027, interested and qualified candidates should;
- Read the details provided on this page and ensure you are eligible for the scholarship

- Download and fill out the application form and submit all required documents.
- Applications should be submitted via email from 21 January to 28 February 2026.
- The submission should include a completed application form, curriculum vitae, educational transcripts, proof of English proficiency, passport copies, letters of recommendation, motivation statement, health certificate, a certificate of good conduct, and any other required documents.
- All documents must be submitted in English.
Selection Process
- The selection process for the scholarship is conducted in two phases. In the first phase, FAO conducts a pre-screening, followed by further selection by the participating universities.
- Only completed applications are considered, and the final selection is made by the universities without any involvement from FAO.
