Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) invites young Nigerians to apply for the 5th Cohort of the International Professional Development Program (IPDP).

The ASR Africa International Professional Development Program comprises fully funded internship and volunteer programs that train young Africans and enhance their effective participation in the development sector.

The AbdulSamad Rabiu (ASR) initiative has called for applications for its 2026 International Professional Development Program (IPDP).

The ASR Africa International Professional Development Program is targeted at young people in the country. This highly competitive placement program comprised of internship and volunteer programs to enhance young people’s effective participation in the development sector.

The program is structured to include intentional learning objectives, guided supervision by the ASR Africa specialist, continuous observation, evaluation and feedback targeted at the growth of the beneficiaries.

The duration of the volunteer program will be 3 months, from September 2026 to December, 2026. Please note that poor-performing volunteers or interns will be dropped along the way.

  • A monthly Transport allowance will be payable to each of the interns.
  • Beneficiaries of the program will enjoy job rotation across all the departments. This will be guided by clearly defined schedules and curriculum. Specialists will take them on specific topics within the period.
  • The 3 months Professional Development program will take place in ASR Africa office in Abuja, Nigeria.
  • At the end of the program, all interns/volunteers must be able to identify a grant application and apply for it
  • Beneficiaries of the program will gain valuable and real-world experiences to advance their personal career goals while also uplifting and restoring the dignity and lives of Africans through social impact programs.

To be eligible for the ASR Africa International Professional Development Program, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Be an African
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution.

All ASR IPDP 2026 interns must;

  • show their expectation analysis at the point of registration and how that translates into their future ambition
  • make PowerPoint presentations of their assignments at the end of every week.
  • be able to identify a grant application and apply for it at the end of the program.
