UBA Foundation Essay Competition Details
The 2023 UBA Foundation Essay Competition is a national essay competition targeted at talented and brilliant senior secondary students in Nigeria who are able to write essays on trending national topics.
The contest is organised annually, as part of UBA Foundation’s education initiative which aims to promote the reading culture and encourage healthy and intellectual competition amongst secondary school students in Nigeria and across Africa.
UBA Foundation Essay Competition Requirements
To be eligible for the UBA Foundation Essay Competition, applicants:
- Must be a Nigerian Senior Secondary school student
- Must submit a passport photograph
- Must submit a scanned copy of a means of identification (birth certificate, National ID, or passport)
- Must submit their essay entry before the deadline

- The UBA Foundation Essay Competition is providing funds up to N10,000,000.00 to successful entries of the competition as thus;

Application Procedure
- Applicants must upload a scanned copy of their original birth certificates or international passport data page.
- Applicants must upload a handwritten essay (not more than 750 words) on the portal.
- All entries are to be submitted via the official platform made available for the contest.
- Essay must also be original and must be plagiarism free with references where necessary.
