The Ican student Essay Competition 1.0 is designed to promote innovative thinking and effective communication among Nigerian students.
The Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) firmly believes that fostering creativity, critical thinking, and the ability to express thoughts in a coherent manner is essential for students’ growth and development.
The essay contest stands as a platform for students not just to participate but also to be motivated.
Acknowledging the valuable contributions, a prize will be awarded to the best essay, inspiring all participants to showcase their writing skills.
ICAN Student Essay Competition Requirements
To be eligible for the ICAN Student Essay Competition, applicants must:
- be a student of any accredited institution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
- submit their essay entry by the due date

Submission Guidelines
The following guidelines must be adhered to for your essay entry to be considered for review;
- Essay Font: Times New Roman, Font Size 12
- Include the writer’s name and contact information (preferably an email)
- Present a critical examination of the impact and possible solutions to brain drain in Nigeria, using your own words
- Prohibit the use of AI or any form of plagiarism
- Use references when citing an author

- Ensure your essay is submitted to icanstudent2@gmail.com and, for further inquiries, reach out to the admin at the same email address.
- After the submission deadline, no entries will be considered.
- Assessment of the essays will commence promptly after the deadline.
- Winners will be announced on December 7.
