“Embracing Homegrown Democracy in Africa: Unlocking the Potential of African Democracies”.
The ACGEM Youth Essay Competition is in pursuit of fostering intellectual discourse and promoting innovative ideas for the advancement of governance and economic management in Africa.
ACGEM invites young scholars, students, policymakers, and thought leaders from across Africa to engage in a thought-provoking discussion on the subject of homegrown democracy in Africa.
To be eligible for the ACGEM Youth Essay Competition, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

Participants Are Encouraged But Not Limited To:
Exploring and presenting their perspectives on how governance systems on the continent can be recalibrated to suit the unique and differing needs of various African countries.
Presenting their conceptualizations of how a homegrown African democracy will look in practice using any African country as a case study.
Examining how homegrown democratic systems can contribute to development in Africa.
