NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship Details
The NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship is one of the NNPC Joint Venture schemes usually jointly hosted with Agip exploration, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, and many other top oil and gas companies in Nigeria.
The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCO) hereby invites applications from qualified Nigerian students for the 2023 NNPC SNEPCo National University Scholarship Programme.
Shell Nigeria Exploration Company Limited as the operator of Oll Mining Lease 118 has made this announcement on behalf of itself and other Co-ventures consisting of Nigerian Agip Exploration. TotalEnergies Nigeria and Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria (Deepwater) limited under a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC).
The NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship programme has the aim of promoting academic excellence and improving the skills of young Nigerians.

NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible for the undergraduate NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
- Currently be in their second year of full-time study in a Nigerian University accredited by the NUC
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in a 5-grade system or the equivalent in other grade systems, and
- Not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship from an entity in the Oil and Gas industry, National or International

NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship Benefits and Timeline
Every awardee of the NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship will be getting a scholarship fund of N200,000.00 from the scholarship host
- This scholarship award is renewable every year from the period of award till the completion of undergraduate study of the applicant.
- Candidates are expected to utilize this fund for the offset of tuition, accommodation, study materials, as well as living expenses of the corresponding academic session.
Required Documents for NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship
You will be submitting the following while applying for the 2024 NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship;
- Every applicant should have a valid personal email account and phone number
- Candidates should include personal and educational details in the
application - Applicants should upload scanned copies of the following as part of the application
- Recent passport sized photograph of the applicant in JPEG format, not more than 200 kilobytes
- University or JAMB Admission letter
- Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) Result
- O level Result(s) and ‘A’ Level/ OND/ NCE Results) as applicable
- Letter of Identification from State of Origin, indicating applicant’s local government of origin and
- Academic results (CGPA after completing 100 level

Selection Criteria for NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship
- Applications must be received not later than the specific deadline via the scholarship portal ONLY
- Only candidates that meet the eligibiilty criteria will be invited for the monitored computer-based test
- Any candidate found to have presented false documents will be disqualified or withdrawn at any level of the scholarship process
- Only the top 10 candidates will be shortlisted from each of the 36 states and the federal Capital Territory for academic verification prior to scholarship offer
- Candidates with falsified results will be disqualified
- Only candidates that have successfully satisfied the above criteria will be contacted to receive the scholarship award
- All scholars must maintain minimum of 3.5 CGPA per session, in a 5-grade system or the equivalent in other grade systems, to sustain the award.
How To Apply for NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship 2024
To apply for the NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship, follow the instructions we have outlined below;
- Read all the details we have provided in this post
- Ensure you have met the requirements and gathered the required documents
- Click on “Apply Now” tab and proceed to “Register Now” to create and activate an account.
- Return to the Scholarship site and log in with your registered email and password to upload your information.
- Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information and upload the required scanned documents.
- Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in the same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise.
- Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading.
- When asked to upload photo, upload a passport photograph with a white background.
- Recheck application information to avoid errors
- Return to “Active Scholarships” and Click on the scheme you wish to apply and Click “Apply Now” to submit information
- You will receive a notification displayed on the screen and via email that you have successfully applied. To confirm Check “My application” under “My account” section on your profile account.
- Return to the scholarship webpage, enter your Email and Password to download your profile, and proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document.
- Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.
