Mastercard Scholarship UISU-Africa Requirements
To qualify for the Mastercard Scholarship at USIU-Africa, you must:
- Be 29 years old or younger at the time of application.
- Meet the minimum university entry grade of a C+ or higher, or its equivalent as set by the Kenya Commission for University Education.
- If you’re interested in courses within the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, a mean grade of B- or its equivalent, with at least a C+ or B- in the cluster subjects of English, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry is required.
- International applicants must meet the equivalent.
- Express interest in any of the approved 13 undergraduate degree programs under the Scholars Program at USIU-Africa.
- Demonstrate a track record of leadership involvement and community engagement.
- Showcase socio-economic disadvantage.
Preference will be accorded to registered refugees/displaced youth and individuals with disabilities who possess academic aptitude, a commitment to community service, and leadership potential.

Required Documents for the UISU-Africa Mastercard Scholarship
When applying for the 2024 UISU-Africa Mastercard Scholarship, you’ll be required to submit the following documents:
- Scholarship application letter, which should include:
- Personal background
- Reasons for choosing USIU-Africa
- Your post-graduation aspirations
- Copies of academic documents (final high school certificates)
- A recommendation letter from your high school teacher, head teacher, or sponsoring organization (officially stamped and signed)
- One recent passport-size photograph
- A copy of your birth certificate, national identity card, passport, and/or refugee travel document
- A copy of your refugee identity document (if applicable)
- A copy of your disability registration document/card (if applicable)
