McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Program 2026 Details
The program includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to clients and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.
You’ll gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to McKinsey. YLPs receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams.
Following the end of the YLP, assuming good performance, you may be offered a full-time business analyst role with the office. You’ll work in our Lagos office as part of our Young Leaders Programme (YLP). You will be an integral member of our teams and will work directly with clients.Â
The Young Leaders Programme is a 1-year full-time consulting program designed for recent university graduates from different academic backgrounds interested in pursuing an exciting career in consulting and passionate about working in Africa.
This is an internship open to West African graduates who have completed or are yet to begin their country’s mandatory national youth service. YLP helps to develop exceptional young local African talent into real leaders.

Fellows Responsibilities at McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Program 2026
The fellows will be responsible for:
- Work in teams of 3–5 consultants on client engagements
- Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses
- Develop and communicate recommendations to clients
- Present results and support implementation alongside client teams
- Contribute innovative ideas and practical solutions from day one
McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Program Requirements
To be eligible for the McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Program, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Undergraduate or Master’s degree (2:2 and HND accepted)
- Less than 3 years of work experience
- Completed or about to begin NYSC
- Outstanding academic achievement record
- Proven leadership through extracurriculars or work
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English
