UNDP Media and Advocacy Internship 2026 Details

The UNDP Media and Advocacy Internship 2026 is organised under the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy.

The internship supports UNDP’s global communication strategy, which focuses on promoting development initiatives, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing public awareness of UNDP programmes worldwide.

The Media and Advocacy Teams play a key role in managing UNDP’s global reputation, corporate messaging, and public engagement through media relations, communication campaigns, and storytelling from country offices across more than 170 countries and territories.

Selected interns will work closely with communication experts and development professionals while gaining exposure to international policy advocacy and global development communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Tracking, researching and analyzing information on assigned topics, gathering information from diverse sources and helping assess news value and other potential impacts.
  • Assisting with the implementation of communications campaigns; identifying and proposing information opportunities, activities and approaches.
  • Assisting with the organization of press conferences for communications campaigns on priority development issues.
  • Media monitoring and preparing news compilations on priority development themes.
  • Maintaining and updating media and subscription mailing lists.
  • Any other assigned tasks as required.

  • (c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation.
