MOBSE Abia State Teacher Recruitment Details

Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MOBSE) has opened applications for Batch Two of its teachers’ recruitment exercise.

Under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, the initiative seeks passionate and qualified teachers who are ready to serve in rural and riverine areas. 

The ministry noted that priority will be given to critical subject areas, especially in hard-to-reach communities, to ensure that every child in Abia State receives access to quality education.

The Abia State Teacher Recruitment offers the following benefits;

  • Competitive monthly salary – the minimum base wage in Abia State is ₦72,000
  • Successful candidates would be expected to serve in rural or riverine schools for a period of at least five years in the first instance.

MOBSE Abia State Recruitment Available Teaching Positions

Successful candidates will be recruited to teach the following subjects;

  • English Language

  • Mathematics

  • Biology, Chemistry & Physics

  • Agricultural Science

  • Civic Education & Social Studies

  • Computer Science / ICT

  • Christian Religious Studies (CRS)

  • Business Studies / Accounting

  • Economics

  • Government

  • Home Economics

Applicants should note that priority will be given to critical subject areas, especially in hard-to-reach communities. Successful candidates may be assigned to rural, urban, or riverine areas within the state.

Abia State Teacher Recruitment Requirements

To be eligible for the MOBSE Abia State Teacher Recruitment, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • be Abian or non-Abian residing in the state.
  • be below 45 years of age as of December 31, 2025.

  • should possess at least one of the following qualifications:

    • Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Ed, B.Sc, or B.A)

    • Master’s Degree (M.Ed or M.Sc)

    • Doctorate Degree (Ph.D)

  • Applicants who do not possess formal teaching credentials can still apply. However, if employed, they must obtain a recognized teaching qualification within two (2) years before their appointment can be confirmed.
