The AKISAN Scholarship Program is happily open to receiving applications from eligible students of polytechnic, colleges of education, and universities.
10 Akwa Ibom students currently studying in the USA will receive an awrd of $500, while 62 students from Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education will be awarded a cash prize of N100,000 each.

About AKISAN
AKISAN USA is a membership-based, apolitical organization. Membership is chapter-based.
AKISAN USA has the following sets of objectives:
- To promote, encourage and foster unity among the citizen of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria both at home and abroad.
- To promote economic, educational, cultural, scientific and social progress of Akwa Ibom State within the framework of one Nigeria.
- To cooperate with and support bona-fide Nigerian Associations in the United States of America and encourage members of the Association to join Nigerian Associations and participate in promoting the interest of Nigeria both at home and abroad.
- To encourage and support the educational, professional and legitimate business aspirations of all Akwa Ibom State citizens, provided those aspirations are consistent with the best interest of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria and its citizens.
- To act as a liaison between our government, and others, including other organizations both government and non-governmental, and the members of this Association and citizens of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria in the United States of America.
- To support and promote various charitable organizations by cooperating with any such organization, participating in its activities or contributing to such an organization.
AKISAN Scholarship Program Requirements
To be eligible for the undergraduate AKISAN Scholarship Program, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Applicants must be indigenes of Akwa Ibom State.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a public institution of higher learning anywhere in Nigeria.
- Applicant must be Undergraduates students.
- Applicants must be registered for the semester in which the scholarship is granted.
- Applicant must have minimum GPA of 2.5 undergraduate or a High School GPA of 3.0 (on a 5.0 scale) for first-year undergraduates.

Benefits and Timeline
The AKISAN Scholarship Program is awarded in two categories;
- $500 for 10 students studying in the USA
- N100,000 for 62 students studying in Nigerian iinstitutions.

While applying for the 2024 AKISAN Scholarship Program, you will be required to submit the following documents;
- Complete Application Form
- Academic Transcripts
- Certificate of Origin
- WASSCE/NECO Results (100 students)
