On the other hand, it is also given to each secondary school beneficary to help the student afford basic books, sandals or shoes, school bag, school uniform, etc.

UODA Scholarship Details
The UODA Scholarship Scheme is championed and facilitated by Urue Offong Oruko Development Association (UODA) through sponsorship of the Scheme by public spirited individuals, like you, who are poised to redressing some deficits in our education sector in the LGA.
UODA Scholarship Scheme is made up of both Tertiary and Secondary Schools Scholarship. It started in 2022 with award of scholarships to 34 Tertiary School Students at One Hundred Thousand Naira only (N100,000) each and 33 Secondary School Students at Thirty Thousand Naira only (N30,000) each.
Those wishing to endow the scholarship may contact the Scholarship Committee for detailed briefing.
The Chairman of the Scholarship Committee is Prof. Efiong Eyefoki, with seasoned community spirited and educational concerned individuals serving in the Committee.
UODA Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible for the undergraduate UODA Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- A student or prospective student of a recognised public tertiary school in Nigeria;
- An indigene of Urue Offong Oruko LGA, verifiable through authenticated certificate of origin;
- Bright with high intelligent quotient verifiable during the screening interview to ascertain suitability for the award;
- An indigent student with verifiable evidence of no other opportunity for sponsorship;
- Free from enjoying any other scholarship award elsewhere for same academic programme;
- For Fresher Student: must have gained admission into the institution, having passed the UTME and given placement (admission) letter to that effect to study a recognised course in a tertiary institution within Nigeria;

- For Returning Student: must have
- (i)undergone matriculation processes;
- (ii) issued with a matriculation number by the institution to study a recognised programme in a tertiary institution in Nigeria and
- (iii) earned a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5 and above, verifiable from the school portal;
- Shall have obtained a letter of attestation from his or her Head of Department certifying that he or she is a student of the institution.
- An active member of the National Association of Urue Offong Oruko Students in his/her Chapter, verifiable from a Letter of Attestation from his/her Chapter President.

Required Documents
While applying for the 2023 UODA Scholarships, you will be required to submit the following documents;
Download the softcopy of the form, as seen above, print out (colour or black and white), fill out every required field therein by supplying all the information needed in the form.
Get two (2) Referees to attest to your suitability to enjoy the scholarship.
Attach photocopy each of your_
JAMB Admission Letter;
Evidence of Payment of Acceptance Fee (Applicable to Fresh Students only);
RRR Code or Access Code (Applicable to Returning Students only);
Certificate of Origin;
HoD’s Attestation Letter (Applicable to Returning Students only), specifying the Applicant’s Name, Matriculation Number, Course of Study, Level of Study and the Senate’s or Academic Board’s approved CGPA;
National Association of Urue Offong Oruko Students (NAUO) Chapter President’s Attestation Letter (Applicable to Returning Students only), specifying that the Applicant is an active member of that Association.

1, Nsit Street, Off Aka Road, UyoIt is imperative to emphasise that the Scholarship Committee places high premium to academic performance status or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) for the last semester(s) or academic session, as approved by the University Senate or Academic Board of the Institution.
Therefore, submission of all claims (including the CGPA) must be genuine, as all claims submitted shall be verified through due diligence processes by the Scholarship Committee to ascertain the veracity of same.
Any false claim shall be spotted and the culprit summarily disqualified from the Scholarship Scheme as well as sanctioned, accordingly.
Do well to follow our rules outlined here strictly, because UODA is not given to circumvention of rules or favouritism to any one.
