The UNIDO Charity Kpabep Scholarship offers $4,000 for tuition and monthly stipends, brand new laptops, phones, technical training, mentorship, and internship.
This scholarship initiative, a part of Nigeria’s Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP) Stage III Project, is targeted at achieving the phasing out of 17.13 Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) tonnes of HCFC-22.

Federal Ministry of Environment/UNIDO Charity Kpabep Scholarship Details
The Federal Ministry of Environment, in conjunction with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), is spearheading the KPABEP Scholarship Program.
The Federal Ministry of Environment/UNIDO Kpabep Scholarship is aimed at fostering the potential of female technicians and engineers in Nigeria.
This initiative will identify 20 outstanding female engineering students from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and equip them to become future leaders in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector.
The focus remains on building technical capacity, increasing female representation in manufacturing, and strengthening Nigeria’s green and sustainable cooling industry.
Federal Ministry of Environment/UNIDO Kpabep Scholarship Requirements
To qualify for the Federal Ministry of Environment/UNIDO Kpabep Scholarship, candidates need to meet the following requirements:
- Identify as a woman
- Have a Nigerian citizenship
- Be aged below 40 at the time of application
- Be enrolled in an accredited Nigerian university or post-secondary institution in a full-time engineering or related degree program
- Must be within the final two years of study
- Demonstrate leadership and engagement in extracurricular activities
- Show commitment to attending scholarship engagement events, workshops, and trainings
- Show commitment to completing a relevant internship within the scholarship period
- Have willingness to provide quarterly progress reports and an internship report

Federal Ministry of Environment/UNIDO Kpabep Scholarship Benefits and Timeline
- Successful candidates will receive a one-time award of up to $4,000 to cover tuition and living expenses, brand new laptops and Android phones.
- Additionally, beneficiaries may have the opportunity for specialized RAC training and a 1 to 3-month internship in a company focusing on RAC.
